Learn to Read Better–Find a Tutor

Tutor/Learner Literacy

Adult learners come from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. Our trained volunteer tutors meet learners where they are in their literacy skills and build!  Their weekly two-hour sessions are tailored to the individual’s needs allowing for a customized approach to help them succeed at their own pace.   From reading prescriptions or work documents to reading a story to their child, literacy skills are directly applicable to daily lives.

Family Literacy-Join Us

Parental involvement in their child’s literacy practices is a more powerful force than other family background variables, such as social class, family size and level of parental education. Although parental involvement has the greatest effect in the early years, its importance to children’s educational and literacy outcomes continues into the teenage and even adult years.  Our family literacy programs offer engaging programs and classes that involve the whole family in their literacy development.
