Volunteer Spotlight

Kerri Straw –

Kerri Straw serves our program as a volunteer instructor. She shares her in-depth knowledge of all things digital literacy by teaching our computer software classes, senior literacy classes, and our soon-to-launch monthly Digital Lifeskills Class.

When she is not volunteering she serves her passion to educate through her work in the employee benefits field.  For over 20 years, she has worked for insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and benefit consulting firms.

Kerri currently holds a Bachelor’s in science – human resource management, has her Life & Disability License, HIPAA Security and Privacy certification, and is a certified professional in Human Resources as a PHR and SHRM-CP. And if that is not enough, she is currently working on her Master’s degree in human resource management!

When Kerri is not actively at work or pursuing a higher education, she can be found spending time with her family, riding her Harley motorcycle, or hiking in the beautiful North Idaho woods.

Her favorite part of instructing?  “As a volunteer, I love when the learner asks me a question that stumps me. That means we both get a special opportunity to learn something new.”
